0:20 – Hi, I’m Sharon Pson. I’m the Director of Prospect Development at NC State University. My team handles prospect research and prospect management.

0:30 – NC State University is a land-grant institution, so we have a lot of responsibilities to support the state of North Carolina and our students who come from here. The mission of my team is to identify donors at all levels to support the key initiatives of the University.

0:48 – I’ve been using DonorSearch at several different institutions, ranging from higher education to healthcare institutions. I’ve had the pleasure of watching the platform expand and grow over the course of the time I’ve been working with it.

1:01 – One area where we’ve seen a lot of success with screening data is in identifying new donors who have perhaps lapsed or never given—whether they’re alumni, parents, or friends.

1:15 – We’ve worked very closely with DonorSearch’s client support and services team to integrate user fields into our screening template. This allows us to segment and assign results directly within the system, without the need to export the data elsewhere.

1:32 – This has been such a breakthrough for us, significantly cutting down the time we spend moving data from place to place and creating extra Excel files. It’s really freed up my team’s time for other important work.

1:47 – Using the DS rating for our parent process has been instrumental in increasing the amount of money we raise.

1:56 – If anyone were to ask me for advice about using the DonorSearch tool, I would say even if you can only afford the basic screening, you’d already be way ahead of the game with just that.
