How To Raise: Sphere of Influence

One of the most successful ways to build a lead list and cultivate potential donor relationships is working with lead peers. Trustees and other volunteers may identify leads off the top of their heads, but it is far better to review a list of qualified leads — a Sphere of Influence list — with whom they may be connected so they can identify even more leads with whom they are willing to work. In addition, the process provides a structure in which they can assist with strategy development, introduction and cultivation or, in some cases, disqualification. This presentation covers a proven process for creating and coordinating Sphere of Influence lists that is applicable to any nonprofit.
